چکیده

The nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is an ideal model for describing optical soliton transmission. This paper first introduces integer-order generalized coupled NLS solitons in birefringence fibers. Secondly, the semi-inverse and fractional variational method used to extend integer?order space–time order. Moreover, various forms of equations are discussed, including Kerr, power, parabolic, dual-power, log law. exact solutions, such as bright, dark, singular solitons, given. Finally, behavior solution shown by three-dimensional figures with different orders, which reveals propagation characteristics fibers described equation.

Shape-changing Collisions of Coupled Bright Solitons in Birefringent Optical Fibers

We critically review the recent progress in understanding soliton propagation in birefringent optical fibers. By constructing the most general bright two-soliton solution of the integrable coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation (Manakov model) we point out that solitons in birefringent fibers can in general change their shape after interaction due to a change in the intensity distribution among...

Artificially disordered birefringent optical fibers.

We develop and experimentally verify a theory of evolution of polarization in artificially-disordered multi-mode optical fibers. Starting with a microscopic model of photo-induced index change, we obtain the first and second order statistics of the dielectric tensor in a Ge-doped fiber, where a volume disorder is intentionally inscribed via UV radiation transmitted through a diffuser. A hybrid ...

Interaction of solitons in tunnel-coupled optical fibers.

A pair of weakly interacting optical fibers, which are described by two nonlinear Schrödinger equations with linear coupling terms, is considered in the framework of perturbation theory. It is shown that the interaction of optical solitons in this system is inelastic and that they may form a bound state (bisoliton). The stability and internal oscillations of the bisoliton are also investigated.

Photon pair generation in birefringent optical fibers.

We study both experimentally and theoretically the generation of photon pairs by spontaneous four-wave mixing (SFWM) in standard birefringent optical fibers. The ability to produce a range of two-photon spectral states, from highly correlated (entangled) to completely factorable, by means of cross-polarized birefringent phase matching, is explored. A simple model is developed to predict the spe...
